Here are some important places to visit in Bangkok.

2.Wat Arun (Iconic Temple which renowned as symbol of Thailand)
3.Wat Traimit (Golden Buddha)
4.China Town
5.Chatuchak Weekend Market

The first 3 Temples which I mentioned above are located close to each other.

1.How to reach Wat Pho from Don Muang Airport.

Take Bus number A4. The bus platform is located on the 1st floor of the Don Mueang Airport Arrival Terminal near Gate 6 and you can get down in the last stop Sanam Luang. Grand Palace and Wat Pho is just around 2 km from Sanam Luang.

Taking the Airport bus is one of the cheapest way to reach the destination in a cost of 50 THB per person.

Inside the Temple

Bowl of coins
On one side of the shrine are 108 bronze alms bowl.  You can donate 20 baht and receive a bowl of coins in return.  You put a coin in each alms bowl, like you are making an offering to the Buddha. Giving or offering is a very important practice in Buddhism and by doing so, you accumulate merit.

The temple complex is large and the main attraction there is the huge statue of the reclining Buddha.  I really liked the expression of this Buddha statue.  The Buddha looked so serene and peaceful, like he was deep in thought.

The entrances are guarded by huge Chinese warrior statues.

The Wat Pho is the oldest and largest temple complex in Bangkok, it houses more than 1,000 Buddha images which is more than any other Wat in Thailand. Most of the images were brought over from abandoned temples in places as Ayutthaya and Sukhothai by order of King Rama I.

Buddha Images
If you plan to visit Wat Pho, make sure you dedicate at least an hour to this incredible ancient temple. There’s much more to the grounds than just the Reclining Buddha, so be sure to take in as much as you can
